Jeremy Hardy is in his 4th decade as a stand-up this year. That’s a more dramatic way of saying he started 33 years ago and, without a lottery win, probably has at least another 33 years to go. In 2014, the tenth series of Jeremy Hardy Speaks to the Nation was broadcast on Radio 4. He is also well known for his appearances on The News Quiz and I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue. Indeed, Alan Bennett recently said he likes him “but he’s only on the radio”.
However, Jeremy isn’t only on the radio, his television credits include: Jack Dee’s Election Helpdesk (BBC2), QI (BBC1), Mock The Week (BBC2), Grumpy Old Men (BBC1), Back In The Day (BBC2), Not Tonight With John Sergeant (BBC2).
He is also on the road all year round and has never stopped doing live shows since 1984. After briefly hibernating in the winter, he’s back out on the road in 2016.
“In an ideal world, Jeremy Hardy would be extremely famous, but an ideal world would leave him without most of his best material.” THE GUARDIAN

Presenting some of the finest comedians from the prestigious comedy club circuit – set in the intimate Ellen Terry studio it’s the ideal venue to watch great stand-up ‘Up close and live’.

Gavin Webster : Newcastle’s best export since Brown Ale. Unbelievably funny, unaccountably hilarious and undefinably amusing. You’ll regret it if you miss him! Funny, clever and as brilliantly observed as you’ll find. His daftness is little short of surreal genius.

Brian Higgins : A welcome return to Scotland’s finest ginger haired comedian with more of his hilarious tales and encounters.

Tom Lucy : One of the most exciting new talents on the circuit. Having won the prestigious Leicester Mercury Comedian Of The Year 2016 and The Comedy Store King Gong 2014 you’ll need to catch this young talent while you can and before he blossoms into a super star! In the last six months, he has supported some of the UK’s leading comedians on tour including Russell Howard, John Bishop, Russell Kane and Simon Amstell.
Phil Dinsdale (mc) : Cresset regular Big Phil Dinsdale – the ex steel worker delivers his usual brand of warm and witty audience banter.

Jen Brister : With her blisteringly funny and original style, an Edinburgh Festival regular and former BBC6 Music presenter who’s written for and appeared on numerous TV shows.

Mike Gunn : Fiendishly funny act whose dark, dry and sardonic wit makes most deadpan comedians look positively upbeat!  Mike’s won a hatful of awards and appeared on numerous TV shows including Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow but you didn’t really need to know that – trust us – he’s a class act.

Justin Panks : Compere Justin strikes the perfect balance between the relatable and the outrageous. He sees that thin line and runs towards it at full speed, but stops in just time to avoid seriously getting anyone’s nose out of joint.
