Rich Hall: Hoedown Deluxe

Rich Hall’s comedy/music locomotive keeps on rollin’. Ever-evolving, ever-changing, Rich’s combination of keen acerbic stand-up combined with spit and sawdust alt-country lyricism is a “win-win” (GUARDIAN), as sold out crowds across the UK have attested. Fans keep returning because this show goes where other comedians wouldn’t dare: Barrow-in-Furness for example.

Rich’s acclaimed BBC4 documentaries (most recently Rich Hall’s Red Menace) and his Radio 4 series Election Breakdown have established a whole new legion of followers. He’s also a stalwart of QI and Have I Got News For You. But seeing the Hoedown is a whole different experience. Gut-busting, rib-tickling, toe-tapping, and shit-kicking, Rich Hall’s Hoedown Deluxe covers the full anatomical spectrum.

SIMON EVANS: The Work of the Devil

Wednesday 1st April

Simon Evans’ last show, ‘Genius’ provided an hilarious analysis of the departure of any visible sign of intelligence from modern life. But his new show raises the stakes, with his usual excoriating views of a world on fire given a perspective shift from personal revelations that turned his world upside down this year.

“A gripping and, ultimately heart-warming tale… rich with Evans’ wit and caustic observation.” (**** The Scotsman)

“You expect a high standard of stand-up from this veteran performer. But in sharing something so deeply personal, he’s exceeded what seemed to be his full potential… I’d expect it to get even better when it goes out on tour. Outstanding stuff.” ( **** ½ Chortle)

Simon Evans is the star of Live at the Apollo, Mock The Week, BBC Radio 4’s The News Quiz, The Unbelievable Truth & Simon Evans Goes To Market. Simon has made appearances on This Week, Question Time, Celebrity Mastermind, Pointless Celebrities and Mastermind The Professionals.

Ben Norris: Time Out Award winner Ben is the king of razor sharp improvisation and word play maestro.  The term circuit legend is overused, but Norris is one of a handful that have been headlining for more than two decades and rarely departs a stage without blown the roof off and left the audience buckled over with laughter.

“Hilarious…truly a sight to behold” Ed Byrne

Leo Kearse: Scottish comedian of the year and UK Pun Champion Leo Kearse delivers side-splitting tales covering such topics as being Scottish, dating, buying a train ticket and Thai toilets!

“A triumphant of outrageous and dark jokes, not pushing but gleefully running straight through the boundaries of taste and acceptability in today’s “woke” culture’ British Comedy Guide

Micky Overman: One of the most exciting new comedy talents in the country. Hailing from Amsterdam Micky moved to the UK to ply her comedy trade and was nominated for the Chortle Best Newcomer award. Her uniquely distinct style combines surgically sharp writing with a refreshing whimsy.

“Endearingly goofy yet refreshingly no-nonsense” Funny Women

Thomas Green: Australian Thomas is as engaging as he is energetic. A former school teacher who swapped the whiteboard marker for a mic, and hasn’t looked back since. He began his career by selling out his first festival run in hometown Adelaide, being nominated the following year for Best Emerging Comedy and since has only gone from strength to strength, selling out shows at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Edinburgh Fringe. A comic on the rise not to be missed.
